Jackie Ritchie was born of fisherfolk parents in the North East of Scotland.
His father and mother were converted in the spiritual awakening described in ‘Floods upon the dry
ground’.
Jackie went to sea in the old steam drifters and later
sailed in motor boats.
While standing idly one day near the Cross Keys at Peterhead
Harbour, he heard some workers from the Faith Mission along with Tom Paterson
